God has many Names
God has many Names; one of which is Jehovah Rapha, “…I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26). The will of God is always to heal. In the Gospels, we read about how multitudes were healed by Jesus. Even though people know Jesus can heal, they aren’t sure if it’s His will to heal. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) MEV. Jesus is no respecter of persons, so what His will was yesterday, His will is also for today. “Then Peter began to speak, saying, “Truthfully, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.””(Acts 10:34) MEV.
Jesus does not change how He operates today; it is the same as when He was here on the earth. He will heal everyone who asks without doubting. Using the terminology ‘if it is your will’ when you pray is showing an element of doubt, meaning you are not sure if He will. When you use that terminology of doubt you can’t expect healing because it means you aren’t believing but rather only hoping. Just hoping does not get your prayers answered because your faith is not in it.
The perfect will of God
You can see the perfect will of God done in three places in the Bible:
- In the Garden of Eden, there was no sickness, no disease, no pain, no lack, there was plenty. It was good. That’s what a good God does.
- In heaven, there is no pain or sorrow, no sickness or disease, and no lack.
- The will of God was done in Jesus’ ministry. Jesus said to him (Philip), “Have I been with you such a long time, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me, has seen the Father. So how can say, ‘Show us the Father’.” (John 14:9) MEV. Jesus didn’t say or do anything unless He heard and saw the Father do it.
Your loved ones in heaven don’t want to come back so don’t grieve over them. Grief is not from God; it’s one of the things Jesus died to free you from. “Surely he has borne our grief and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted (Isaiah 53:4) MEV.
Death and grief run together. Grief ruins the rest of the family who have not died. It suppresses the life of God. That’s one reason some people don’t get healed. They try to live under the spirit of grief. Rebuke it and tell it to go!
Accounts of healing
In the Gospels, we find several incidents where Jesus healed people with leprosy and each time He said, “I will.” Jesus will say the same thing to you, “Of course I will heal you.” “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) MEV.
- In Matthew, a leper came to Jesus for healing. “And then a leper came and worshipped Him saying. ‘Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean,’ Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, ‘I will. Be Clean.’ and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” (Matthew 8:2-3) MEV.
- In Mark, the man with leprosy knelt before Jesus and made his request (Mark 1:40-42). Jesus moving with compassion, reached out His hand, touched him and said, “I will; you be clean.” Immediately, the leprosy departed.
- In Luke’s gospel, we have a man was full of leprosy and close to death, knelt, worshipped and fell on his face before Jesus. (Luke 5:12-13). Jesus showing compassion, touched him and said, “Of course I will heal you.” (Luke 5:13, TLB). “Of course it’s My will,”
- A centurion told Jesus his servant was sick. Jesus offered to come and heal the servant. The centurion knew he was not a Jew, and he also knew that Jesus could heal. He said to Jesus, “Speak the word only and my servant will be healed.” (Matthew 8:5-10). The centurion had faith, because he required no evidence because he recognized the authority of the Word of God.
The seed of Abraham
God had promised healing to the descendants of Abraham and since we are the seed of Abraham, healing also belongs to us. “If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed. and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29) MEV! The New Covenant is a better covenant with better promises; “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, because He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6) MEV, and we are in it! Jesus was preaching and teaching the blessing of Abraham, not the requirements of the Law. Since the Word was going forward, we know faith was coming (Romans 10:17).
It is easy to receive healing from Jesus, and it is the perfect will of God. Luke expressed the same thing. When Jesus was preaching in His home and not speaking to a hostile crowd. The power of the Lord was present to heal them because He preached the Word of God. If you are born again, you are a new creature, and no born-again creation of God is unworthy. Don’t call yourself unworthy; that’s a strong confession of unbelief. “Any man who is in Christ is a new creature” (a new creation). “Old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new, and all things are of God” (2 Corinthians 5:17-18).
We not only have the authority of the Word, but we also have the authority of the Name of Jesus. For you to receive your healing, you must act on what Jesus said. The only evidence you need is speaking the Word only, “I am healed” and then believing in faith that it is done.
Healing through forgiveness
Healing comes from the power of the Lord (Luke 5:17-26). While there can be many hindrances to faith, Jesus talked about the hindrance of unforgiveness. The same spiritual force that forgives you will also bring healing to you. An example of a hinderance is when a man sick with palsy was brought to Jesus for healing. They couldn’t get in because of the crowd, so they let the sick man down through the roof. Jesus seeing their faith, said to the sick man, “Cheer up! Your sins are forgiven!”
Apparently, this man had a sin burden. He was under condemnation, and that had to be dealt with before he could receive healing. The Pharisees were angry when Jesus said He could forgive sin. They knew that only God could forgive sin. Yet when the man was healed, the crowd began to glorify God. Faith was coming, because the people were hearing the Word (Romans 10:17).
The power of God was present to heal. As the crowd began to glorify God, faith came, so many could be healed. The power that forgives is the same power that heals. Healing comes by the power of the living God. He is a forgiving God. He is a healing God, and we praise Him! Not only can you be healed, but also your sins can be forgiven. If you are afflicted, that means you are troubled (James 5:13-15).
You must meditate on God’s Word daily (Joshua 1:8). It’s very important to not quit using your faith. Read, listen, speak and agree with what God says (Proverbs 4:20-22). You must believe and then receive what God tells you. Jesus is the Healer, and He’s the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus is the giver, but He needs a receiver, that’s you! God is ready. Open your heart and be a ready receiver.
An unforgiving heart
Jesus said, “Forgive if you have anything against anybody, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your trespasses” (Mark 11:25). If you don’t forgive, your faith won’t work for you to receive forgiveness or healing. Receiving forgiveness is an absolute promise of God. He is faithful and just (and righteous) to forgive us of our sins (1 John 1:9).
“There is no condemnation for those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1-2). If you’re walking in obedience to your feelings, you’re walking after your flesh. You’re going to have to do your part and receive your forgiveness and cleansing. It is vitally important that you obey the Lord Jesus by forgiving anyone we have issues against. It’s a commandment to love the Lord your God and to love your fellow Christians, whether you feel like it or not. This is not optional.
Feelings will change; but for now, forgive, and mean it with all your heart. Choose to forgive and receive your healing and receive your forgiveness. You have the same power to forgive that Jesus has. You have it, because He has authorized and commanded you to forgive!
Use your authority for healing
Jesus will set you free from addictions, habits and sins right now. God is our Healer! Jesus is the Healer! You are ready to receive the power of God if you believe the good news. You can take authority over all sickness and disease, and over all demons. Act on what you’ve heard and let your actions follow your faith. Act as if you are healed. Do what you couldn’t do before.
All authority and power have been given to you by God, so use it for your healing. The reason you can get healed is because of the goodness of God. Remember God’s benefits, including forgiveness and healing. God has always been good, so not only can you be healed, but also your sins can be forgiven.
If you don’t know it, you can’t believe it. You can’t believe beyond what you know. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). You must keep your faith stirred up by hearing. To keep something in your heart, you must continually feed on it. Fuel up on the Word of God and keep taking it. You can never get too much of God’s Word!
The goodness of God
If you are in trouble, you ought to pray for yourself. The devil condemns, but God eagerly yearns to save and heal you. If you believe God made you sick or He is punishing you, you’re not going to be able to believe He will heal you. God does not put any sickness or diseases on anyone, although because of one’s sinful lifestyle, He will withhold His protection which will allow those sicknesses and diseases to come on you. The choice is yours, when you open the door to sin, evil will come against you and gain entry.
The reason you can get healed is because of the goodness of God (Psalm 145:8-9). Once you get a revelation of the goodness of God, it will change your life forever. God is not getting glory from sickness or any other work of the devil. Sickness is not evangelistic; it doesn’t bring God glory. Jesus said God gets glory when you bear fruit (John 15:8), and His will is done in your life.
When you walk in love, you’re going to do the right thing. God is good to everyone, disposed to show favors, full of compassion and of great mercy. His mercy endures forever (Psalm 136), and it is for you, today! A definition of mercy is “to suffer with another; eager yearning for another.” God doesn’t have to be talked into helping you; He’s already done it. Just believe what God has already done and said He would do. That’s faith. God considers healing good (Acts 10:38).
Remember God’s benefits
Remember God’s benefits, including forgiveness and healing (Psalm 103:1-5, 8). Don’t forget any of His benefits. The Lord loads us with benefits daily (Psalm 68:19).Expect good things from God every day. God forgives all iniquities. God is good and full of mercy and compassion. Sin’s lifestyle brings sickness, disease, defeat and death; but according to the mercy of God, you can get forgiven from sin and healed at the same time.
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Confess Jesus Christ as Lord over your life: your spirit, your soul and your body. Receive the power of God to make you sound, whole, delivered, saved and healed now. Act on the Word of God and receive the power of God. Resist sickness, disease, pain now in the Name of Jesus. They are not the will of God for you. Enforce the Word of God on all sickness and disease. Do not tolerate it in your life. Never allow it back.
The power of sickness has been forever broken over your life. Jesus bore your sickness, weakness and pain. You are forever free. Sickness, sin nor fear shall no longer lord it over you. You have been redeemed from the curse of the law. Proclaim your freedom in Jesus’ Name. Today, the gospel is the power of God for you unto salvation. Receive the gospel. Act on the gospel. You have been made whole in Jesus’ Name!
